Audi Field

Audi Field Overview

Audi Field is a multi-purpose yet soccer-specific stadium in the Buzzard Point neighborhood. The 20,000 seat stadium is home to the winningest MLS team, DC United. In 2020, the United will share the stadium with an XFL team. The Washington Spirit, DC's professional women's soccer team, is also considering a move to Audi, playing two home-away-from-home games there this season. In June 2019, the stadium will host the US Men's National Team as a tune-up match prior to the Gold Cup.

Legislation committing DC funds to purchase the land in Buzzard Point was finalized in 2012. Construction on the stadium started in early 2017 and was completed in less than 1.5 years. The first DC United home game at Audi Field was July 14, 2018, a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps that was also the MLS debut of United captain Wayne Rooney.
